Kat Cadungog

Founder & Principal Consultant

  • Kat has over 10 years of experience in supporting for-purpose organizations with strategy development, foresight, and design. Kat mentored equity-deserving youth in rural, remote, and Indigenous communities, directly and indirectly supporting 108 action projects in each province and territory in Canada. From 2020 to the present, Kat became the Executive Director of Finance Engage Sustain (FES) (Formerly Foundation for Environmental Stewardship) and founded Canada’s first-ever youth-led pooled philanthropic fund and re-granting structure to support climate and environmental activities.

    Under her leadership, FES raised $7M for youth climate action and supported over 170 projects with 4 in 5 projects being led-by, meaningfully partnered with, or serving Black, Indigenous, racialized, or newcomer groups in Canada. 

    Kat is a trusted advisor on equity and justice in government policy, contributing her expertise to roundtables focused on key initiatives such as Canada’s Right to a Healthy Environment, Canada’s Environmental Learning and Literacy Strategy, the Climate-Aligned Finance Act, and the Federal Youth Climate Corps. 

    Kat brings deep expertise in governance and organizational design, currently serving on the boards of the Sustainability Network and Salal Foundation, and as an advisory committee member for the Definity Insurance Foundation.

    Kat has been recognized as one of Corporate Knight’s Top 30 Under 30 in 2022, a 2022 Future of Good Young Impact Leader, and Weather Network Changemaker.

YINTAH Access Volunteer Team

This dream team is working hard to bring YINTAH, an award-winning film featuring Wet’suwet’en fight for sovereignty, to Calgary on June 10th.

  • Jasveen (she/her) is a program officer at the Max Bell Foundation. Before joining the Max Bell Foundation, Jasveen was the Executive Director at Youth Climate Lab, where her work focused on enabling young people to become leaders in the climate space by empowering them with skills, financial access, and policy knowledge. 

    She has a Bachelor’s Degree in Biology and Environment, Sustainability & Society from Dalhousie University. Jasveen has been named one of Corporate Knights Top 30 under 30 Sustainability Leaders, a Top 25 environmentalist by Starfish Canada and holds the Sovereign's Medal for Volunteers from the Governor General of Canada.

  • Rachel (she/her) is a collaborator, a connector, and a community builder. After a decade of work with various stakeholders in climate and community spaces, Rachel focuses her work on building and maintaining sustainable, focused, and care-filled organizations that care for and uplift the people who lead and contribute to our movements for a better, more resilient future for all. She brings extensive experience in meaningful youth engagement and a robust background in cross-cultural and experiential learning programmes. 

    Rachel is currently the Finance Director at Youth4Nature and the Logistics Support at Camp WILD. She loves sharing good food with good people, learning about the world around us, and spending time in nature.

  • Maria Granados, Principal Consultant, Silver Spur Strategies. Maria is a Calgary-based communications specialist bringing a passion for research, engagement, and storytelling to her work. Her expertise lies in values-based messaging, allowing her to effectively engage interest-holders on a variety of issues issues.

  • As a graduate from Mount Royal University with a major in Information Design and a minor in Psychology, Kathryn fuses her creative skills and empathy with human-centered design to create user-friendly and innovative solutions. 

    With 7 years of strategic branding, marketing, and communications expertise, Kathryn has delivered impactful design projects in sectors such as healthcare, energy, and social impact. For the past years as Creative Director at FES, she's evolved distinct yet unified brand identities for its programs, ensuring consistency, accessibility, and driving measurable growth in social media engagement, website traffic, and newsletter readership.
